We strongly recommend traveling with a valid passport, even for closed-loop cruises where it is not required. It is the traveler’s responsibility to ensure they have the proper travel documents for their trip.

For most international travel, U.S. citizens must have a valid passport. However, for cruises that depart from and return to the same U.S. port (closed-loop cruises), U.S. citizens may travel with a valid passport or an original state-issued birth certificate with a raised seal, accompanied by a government-issued photo ID.

Non-U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents are advised to consult their respective embassies and U.S. immigration authorities to confirm the necessary documentation requirements.
